selfie
When I crossed
the territory
of the reveries,
a redemption
the naughty/ nights / knocked
to persuade/ upgrade
the extension…
Gloomy, they left
with no guess/ a clue / the keys, -
nobody fell for
the false / flickering / treat or
tricks.
Nobody fell for it and gave in, what a sin lol
ReplyDeleteAwesome take! We all probably named our poems Selfie! Lol!
ReplyDeleteInteresting take on the prompt..distorted picture creates some mystery..
ReplyDeleteI think I am the only one who didn't look far enough to know it was a selfie. Now that I think of it, though, my poem could be a capture of a universal selfie.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy the final line... the flickering trick or treats creates such a vivid image-picture.
the first three lines made me think of a bird crossing over, for some reason. (Maybe it's your nom de plume.) the second stanza is quite the twist ~
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a creative poem, thank you very much. Happy 2014! Leovi.
ReplyDeleteBAH! I never even thought of selfie! I saw something totally different! This is a good one!
ReplyDeleteI like what you did with the image. For some reason the line "naughty/nights/knocked" makes me think of Monty Python. Interesting form with the use of "/".
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed very much..
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining my blog!
DeleteWell done & I love your adaption of the picture too!
ReplyDeleteI like the feel of Halloween here...
ReplyDeleteThanks for inspiration, Tess!
Deletethe best would be if we ourselves did not fall for our own treets and tricks...and masks....
