Irregular ode

When sun is perching on horizon
and colors carousel my eyes
the day is setting, or it’s rising…
how’d you advise?

Sky darkens…some hues maybe leaving
acute night vision ever faint…
when minor mood change so evident
would you pretend?

  4. Interesting question. But one can't pretend for a long stretch of time...and in the long run it probably is not worth it to do so.

  6. I wonder so... could you really pretend... I think it would leave a thorn in your smile...

  7. Love the suggestion of in-between(es) of the first stanza, the not knowing exactly what is what.

And I'm with Mary when it comes to the concluding question. It might be done for a bit (and around those who don't know us well), but after a while... pretension is often discovered.

  8. No. Let it go with the night and enjoy how the colors fade.

  9. colors carousel my eyes - I like that image sort of like riding one those painted ponies into the sunset or sunrise..I enjoy both so no need to pretend...

  10. Sometimes it's hard to tell which way change is taking us. This is a lovely reflection.

  15. Not knowing if day is setting or rising...maybe it's as much how we feel as what the sun tells us
