Day after solstice

photos-public-domain.com

Alive, we're descending…
a script on the wall
rewires…

with new perception,
and when arrive
the guardian meets
with oil chandelier
& phrase:
what took you so long…

New pair of wings,
unknown
serrated
tuxedo,
and sudden
shift of
dimensions
to fly thru…

rx square on
crossing Mercury/Neptune
to test/taste
the clairs...
inward turned eyes…

Where hardship & lesson,
there – gifts from the gods…
if only we dare
to question…

  4. I love the shift, where we have to face outward and inward and YES this confrontation/meeting is a gift. Very Special Poem!

  5. We are on the backside, and that is some relief from the heat. Although I imagine when we get to the bottom of the hill we would not mind some of this heat again. Ha. What took you so long. Ha. Well, I am finally arrived.

  6. There is a chill in this and ominous reality. Makes you consider your own mortality.

  8. Like the idea of a new pair of wings - though we don't know where they will take us.

  14. Beautiful....Love these lines..
    "with new perception,
    and when arrive
    the guardian meets
    ......
    ...and sudden
    shift of
    dimensions
to fly thru…"---the self is not something one finds, it is something one creates!! I think, with age I have become more internal ...more oriented... more reflective. This poem resonates with me.Beautifully penned...

  15. Yes, while we can get our heads around hardship being a lesson, it is difficult to take a step further and see it as a gift.

  18. Your poem is very wise and I like the words, the pace you chose. I must admit though, I'm not fond of those hardship lessons from the gods.

  22. Indeed, if we dare to question and know the right question to ask, the answer matters little... I felt like going through a maze while reading this, but was glad to have reached its centre in those closing lines.
