A treasure

Courtesy of Mama Zen

An amplified profane
in his liberal mode
able to miss
the ancient
reverberation,
the call of
a shell drums
seemed to him
a quarrelsome
hum…
I treasure it.

  6. Yes, what one sees as unimportant can be valued by another person. I find this a comforting thought.

  13. The proof of ancient life is all around us and is in direct contrast to so many people living just for the day. What a treasure it is to touch a fossil, to see a cave painting or even walkthrough a building only a few hundred years old and ponder, wonder ...and treasure it.

  23. A "quarrelsome hum" would certainly be another way of looking at a pleasant sound to another.

  25. *sigh*

"an amplified profane"...what is that? It makes no sense. A noun can be amplified, but an adjective not so much.

Then "the call of a shell drums". It should either be "the call of a shell drum" or "the call of shell drums", but the way it is, is fractured English. It's like you write using auto-translate or something.

    1. Love your comment, FB! I use 'Profane' as a noun, 'ignoramus', 'uninformed'. All is fine with shell drums. I think, the language can't be dead, it always get influenced by different perspective, point of view. Cheers!

  30. Being quarrelsome may be a distraction and humming it seems to make it informal and friendly otherwise! Treasure it, yes! Nicely humbird!
