before you fall apart...

MLMM ~ Writing Prompt #163, Collage #25

Cheer, cheer…
and cardinal appears -
a cycle, season’s call

keep faith
through year of days and nights
despite the errors

a broken branch
sometimes not fatal -
the sign of growth

a leaf, a fruit, a flower
you’re too big for fragile tree
stand tall – to feel your power

before you fall apart
the task – to recreate,
to plant new sprouts

Retrogrades

Taking alternative route at night
my bus lost its bearings, we found ourselves
inclined to one side, in a ditch
followed “one-by-one” command, in silence
squeezed our muscle-guts-throats, while eggs fell from
the shelf to floor between seats…, - in the
window…

was it a grey-rain-day-Mercury
taken advantage of retrogrades?..
anyway, we reviewed our days,
years, people and states  - all being well, laughing
out loud, walked away leaving the bus
in a stopper mode on a verge…

live in a moment
sliding in the deep ditch
enjoy the journey

Hunger in the sky...

A.
I was  about
fleeting nature of
being taken the space
& hunger of mind
between weekend rituals
and sunny hopes
chasing each rain &
promises,  snow in April
taken their lily of the valley
once more prolonged spring
into summer
self-indulged in the
quiet hum while
new - crying to show
its ugly inadequate
form & even blue
sky delayed its sunny
smile, catching
the change paradigm
of all concerned
in its mirrored reflection…

B.
in meantime we
reject the soul touch
to sip the freedom
of irregular disarray
while the hunger
settled
in the sky
washed the dry fields,
fear burst
the unlocked
tenderness
while world celebrates
the power to paddle
wore off passion
& torn the chains of
Love & vulnerable
gardens…

C.
self-bullied,
suppressing
the love
and care about
others guilt
less knowing
real blind spot
abandoned soul
forgot the voice
of innocent child
within the body
crying to release
heal and commit
to growth…

The Phantom Words Lead

Mountains.
High & Low peaks.
Crooked smoke
of spoken words
phantom pebbles
thrown into water
name of God
in the light
of unknown
three...

Black dogs

wallpaperup.com

They showed up yet in the dream
admonishing tread mingling with
dark night,
their black background skin
entwined stars roundelay
caressed
subconscious mind
lurking in the corner
in every look
she’s begun to accept
the helplessness of world,
futility to control and measure.
***
black dogs stopped
shadow side of the moon
this time

Solar*ache

Portrait of Isabella Saltonstall by George Stubbs
1765-1775

fantasy

a faerie queen…
they mystified her
between
earth & luna
polarity basis
( when I started
google for everything,
even end-ism?)
ignoring uncertainty
negative clouds
close by…
sunny & openly
trying to catch
wiggling tail
of horsey wisdom –
beauty we follow
not always physical
smile overlapped
half-transparent
aura of V-s
today – on the peak of
perceptual ecstasy,
tomorrow – 50/50
serene bottom line…

Irregular ode

When sun is perching on horizon
and colors carousel my eyes
the day is setting, or it’s rising…
how’d you advise?

Sky darkens…some hues maybe leaving
acute night vision ever faint…
when minor mood change so evident
would you pretend?

Morning Glory

Briskly reeling along trees & bushes the misty streams prevail the common sense. Blowing the yearning through the vessels/hose the air mass drives doubts seeds in their grounding intention to the earth.
While repentant martyrs stones desperately ask fiery dawn of forgiveness, a chance to start over, - the bathed spray/healed troubles slide sonorously back into the heart’s crevices,

infusing music
ancient sitar witnesses joy
first drop on leaf palm

A ship of sheared sheep

chasing my integrity
I engulf all broken
remains of self
from pilgrim basket
with jagged sorrow…
. . . .
Every sheared sheep
starts over/rushes in
the swirling water
smelling at distance
the huge field
of juicy grass
makes just head swim
building fearful grimace
grows more wool
missing the wise advice:
slow & steady wins…
. . . .
chasing my integrity
I engulf all broken
remains of self
from pilgrim basket
with jagged sorrow…

Pleasant messages

The day smiles
with no sun glasses
I’d not noticed you
testing
the hands converting shoulders
tired of temperance
at surface snow/rain
inches/degrees of temptation
debris of winter businesses

under the cool sun
stopped seeing it as disaster
eye to eye signature
we say:
this or better, we’re grateful
wet or dried
when a silica sand
in withered asphalt
the pavement isn't  slippery

our numb/wild joints stiff
jumping jacks & jello help
release the blocked flow
feel our aggregates & wheels?
some pain relief, at least
we alive,
breath satisfyingly

recording
trembling voice mixed with
delta music for insomnia
slight accent
don’t disturb
frozen ears & eyes
looking wide open to distant wall
with new window-screen
kids game
screech-screaming after the school
what a music for soul after 24/7
heater’s  ommm….

we deaf …loudly
call each other
on barbarian languages
send messages different
from urban smelled porches
for leaf on the tree
not by misfortune
growing here,
now flowed away…
that another life
waiting for friends
going on…

pleasant messages
the winds channel
at Sunday’s brunch
for local crows
such release…

I’m here too,
smell…breathe…through

Altered digest

by Sally Cooper ~ examiner.com

A snap!
                                     prestidigitator’s fingers
                                     transported winter to east
                                     the miracles of sparkled
                                     whites at nights
                                     juxtaposed with people at houses
                                     now involved uncluttering
                                     what’s not worked

                                     revenues arrive
                                     on time
                                     to count and forget
the warm fall from the wall,
the urgent call to wake up
                                     to ripe lives foliage…

                                     though the moon insists
                                     to get going
                                     to fling with zest
                                     to find, complete,
                                     bring to harvest
                                     your best
                                     a project desires blessings

                                     and even Death

                                     not sitting anymore
in first row & laugh -
                                     strong, riding the horse
                                     with a flag of new
                                     beginning, rebirth;

                                     and falling castle
                                     surprises us
                                     with sudden changes
                                     routine pristine
                                     destroyed to let in
                                     something novel,
                                     ambitious…

                                     the road is clear
                                     just embark on
                                     the path and meet
                                     someone bright,
                                     ask his name
                                     and insights
                                     on why...

Snow returns

                       Chilly, even birds
hiding in a pine tree needle clutch
                    cheeping shyly
                     echoing between newborn
                    white bloomed bushes
                    happy school kids' noise

                   snow returns...
                    soft as a baby kiss
                   showering my path

                   memory of falls
snow balls, the flakes & letters
                   gusty wind brought back

                   coughing, - the Santa -
                   I've recognized him-
                   tired man
                   clearing  snowy gifts
                   no robe, swaying old-man's walk
                   at his back yard
                   shoveling...
                   the sorrow
                    bright & timeless
                  a new-year hope

Snow gift

wallpaperup.com

                      Today sun
                      greets & meets, the shrine
                      shines the road
                      of morn strut
                      through scarf, tighten boots, behind
                      the sprinkled white wall

                      I sense luck,
                      the future novel...
                     Jan in rush
                     to show odds,
to quash the needless trash well
                     last year was as new...

Squares

Squares…
arrow where we meet
committed the following
wing-clipped
it’s fatal
at all the sizes
as we step in footstep
ape-creatures
chores, our day’s eye
design filled with
ease – sometimes white
bright – you look back
ache, hurt to be one
unapproved – switch
itch/inch to black
echoing squares…

Circular poem

The patterns go
flow – vertical, horizontal
tall and short, throughout
out I go when tired
red makes me believe
leaves have second life
strive I drink pure water
tore the pages of past
at last I can write much more
bored? not – always at new
venue to discover what tickle
call from empowered fates
fades the patterns’ go…

Distorted colors

Dear souls
passed over to the next room
in silence

they know, feel
appear in the placid moment
our thoughts

touching surface
a tissue of growing
self-planted forest

trees and bushes
to mark the security
shape truth

the obituary
evoked by distorted colors
so resonant life

The thought

painting by Rubens Peale

I had the thought
hasn’t reached the pen
hasn’t made to field
of lines and spaces
tides and ebbs.

Its flesh filled fall
drifts in the holy mist
light cloud
above abyss’
hidden secrets.

Tamed magpie
hazelnut eye pass
a glitter ring in the beak
who dares to lost
the last word to speak…
