They showed up yet in the dream
admonishing tread mingling with
dark night,
their black background skin
entwined stars roundelay
caressed
subconscious mind
lurking in the corner
in every look
she’s begun to accept
the helplessness of world,
futility to control and measure.

black dogs stopped
shadow side of the moon

ReplyDeleteThis is the darkest part of night that's trapped in angst.

I especially love your black dog haiku!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe haiku does always seal the deal, Humbird. This one is well sealed! Walter

Ooh, I like: "their black background skin
ReplyDeleteentwined stars"
Sometimes life can be too mysterious much to the point of being unfair. Even good friends can be found on the 'other side' putting unwanted pressure! Great lines humbird!

ReplyDeleteThe black dog is hard to shake - but all blackness must stand down - in time - i hope and hope xo best wishes to you humbird
ReplyDeleteThere comes a time when breathing and sighing and accepting that life will happen, regardless of what we want or do, is the only thing that makes sense.
ReplyDeleteI really like the hidden possibilities offered in the haiku.
Yes, definitely a sign - perhaps, a shadow that needs some light....
ReplyDeleteThe uncertainties of life can be like a black dog in the night. A stunning write!
