Spirit of the winter

Spirit of the winter
by my door
thankfully accepting
seasons' shift

I thought of moving fast...

by Nick Simonson

I thought of moving fast
in fact I did
for my andante
ignoring the truth
of solar plexus
settling for double
farce
hiding the
wounds & epiphany
songs
under the rain of
seasons
deleted ‘sales’, ’bath & beyond’,
‘realage’, ‘samples & sounds’…

I’m open to white snow gush
feeding me wisely its story
of curious hunters
flashing desires
to devour the pheasant…

where…what a…why…
while everything – white...

Snow returns

                       Chilly, even birds
hiding in a pine tree needle clutch
                    cheeping shyly
                     echoing between newborn
                    white bloomed bushes
                    happy school kids' noise

                   snow returns...
                    soft as a baby kiss
                   showering my path

                   memory of falls
snow balls, the flakes & letters
                   gusty wind brought back

                   coughing, - the Santa -
                   I've recognized him-
                   tired man
                   clearing  snowy gifts
                   no robe, swaying old-man's walk
                   at his back yard
                   shoveling...
                   the sorrow
                    bright & timeless
                  a new-year hope

Winter nudge

minnesota. cbslocal. com

December slip-throw
slowly
sleet into slit
of my sanity

the old tires  - in a trunk
the notches are low,
though weight is fine
for balance show

it saved me while turned
as a dancing car/cow,
pursuing the will,
crouched in a line

‘whenever you go –
take your time’, -
radio 88.5 fm says, -
‘but better – stay home…’
winter calamity.

Winter Solstice 2012

Short day. So bright.
Closed blinds.
The sun's so high
between the lines,
meridians
at North Hemisphere

here, my skin
gets dry,
I feel a thirst
of all cells,
squeezed to smile
and enjoy
new makeover...

defragmented...
the small bits,
stuck behind
a diaphragm,
knock in my heart -
lower back pain,
inner child cry,
being archived,
now released...

under the skin
new DNA crystal grid
been activated -
the flower of Life...

now, ready to fly,
hitching to rising sun
my sled...
riding with
the natural course
of events
in New Era!

Too much snow...

Mild cold,
should the weather has excuses...
snowfall forecast as accurate
as Maya's data!
Winter vigorously introduces
new snowflakes design
by divine author.

Pine trees - boasters,
stretching prickly twigs,
strew the white invite
to crows,
pointing to
snow decor antiques,
wrapped in a cozy
winter clusters.

Too much snow,
piled up by the wind,
cars're snow-bound,
dreaming of new
winter tires,
slightly drifting as if
boats at the piers
at the boulevard
of false believes,
gone in eternity
the happy trials...

Lel's song

Animated film "Snow Maiden" based on the play by Alexander Ostrovsky to the music of Rimsky-Korsakov, processed by L.Shvarts.
The Snow Maiden - the daughter of Father Frost and Beauty Spring . Her icy heart has never was in charge of simple human pleasures, never knew love before she met Lel. His love and warmth gave the girl  the wealth of the world, melted the heart of cold beauty.
Below is my translation of The third song of Lel from the opera "Snow Maiden"

Cloud with thunder were conspiring:
'You rattle, thunder, and I'll pour the rain,
sparkle the ground with spring rain,
that's how flowers will rejoice,
the girls come out to pick berries,
followed their fellows, boyfriends'
Lehl, my Lehl, my Lely, Lely, Lely, Lel.

In a grove young ladies all scattered apart,
who - in the bushes, and who're for firs.
They took berries, halloo to one another,
one girl suddenly is disappeared...
All girls're crying: 'Has the girl been
eaten by a wolf?'
Lehl, my Lehl, my Lely, Lely, Lely, Lel.

On their way girls met the stranger,
strange old stranger, very strange old man:
'Girls, are you stupid, are you crazy at all?
What kind of profits're your halloo to
one another?
What a joy to her to respond?
You would fumbled in the bushes...'
Lehl, my Lehl, my Lely, Lely, Lely, Lel.

Grandpa Frost and The Crow

When comes in winter grandpa Frost -
he plays the game of "frozen toes" !
Please, insulate the body, soul
or cease to feel them soon at all.

No one in state resists the Frost
bird tried to resent, and ...lost,
its broken voice from frozen twig
has sounded like strangled squeak.

Frost push the trees - they rock with crunch,
and dropping snow dust at the patch,
where trembling squirrels passing by,
imagined snowball storm up high.

The drivers on the roads yield,
with effort holding steering wheel
to keep upright it straight they strive,
when slippery - who wants to drive!

And suddenly - sarcastic laugh:
the crow's broke in winter life.
Uplifted, blessed my whole day
with frosty windy winter stay!

Afternoon strut

Midst of afternoon walking spree
posing dazzling sun - at the top of tree
angels greet with signature sky
under feather layers I feel high

Fresh uplifting air touch my cheeks
while I drink refreshing oxygen mix
angel's smile's teasing in the twigs of tree
noticing the time - 3:33

Light and sturdy midst  of afternoon strut
strive to take a new venture rout...

Wintery moonlight

Snow is whirling
Outside -
Night

Milky Way unfolds
white invite -
Light

I would like to break
into your world:
whistle as a wind,
glow as a light,
be the seat on sleigh,
comforted along the way...

Swaying on the swing,
touched by butterfly wing,
wintery moonlight

Misty view

Breathing the mists and perfume
a maiden, caught in a silk
in misty window moves.

Glowing with mystical light
archway on her forehead,
the bracelet, elastic silk.

Looking for transparent veil
by strong intimacy shocked,
I slowly float away...

The image sways in my mind:
her grounded brown eyes
are blooming on distant shore...

The treasure lies in my heart,
the key is entrusted
only to me.
