Altruism, why?

“…they were aware of
a semblance of meaning”
E. Rinaldi
Allow yourself to
curdle in a twinge
aware of semblance
of meaning

The broken visage
of not existed draught
not a Paper tiger
anymore
defunct

Life in a partition
from world flux -
anabiosis,
the meteor
bowled out of space
the earth…

The Legend

Pulling strings/many hearts,
his heart opens to give,
to sink into music
Jacuzzi, release the
burden of life, to heal
the wounds, where it hurts.

At first, voice not strong,
not his voice, the guitar
solo touching the air,
testing the walls and
material values,
volumes of love returns.

Soul aligned in his wealth
with purpose, he amazes,
brings charisma, connects
all in one, quotes to put
hands together and
follow him in one breath.

Bad weather

My translation (Russian) of the song "Bad weather"
from the movie "Mary Poppins, Goodbye".
Music: Alla Pugacheva, Vadim Lotkin.
Lyrics: Irina Pavlyutkin.

The changes with weather
happen from year to year,
bad weather now - in fashion,
bad weather, bad weather.
As if from the plumbing pipes
heaven water's pouring on us:

Refrain:
six months of bad weather,
half a year - just nowhere,
six months of bad weather,
half a year - just nowhere at all.

Nowhere, nowhere we hide,
but life couldn't be delayed.
Nowhere, nowhere, but right
there someone is looking for you
among the rain.

Ominous thunder's rumbling
from sunset to sunrise,-
a fee for the human sins,
bad weather, bad weather.
Not sore throat, cold or virus -
more serious trouble:

Refrain.

Fly away, the cloud

My translation of the song "Fly away, the cloud" (1979).
Music and lyrics by V. Reznikov (1952-1992)

Fly away, cloud,
fly away, cloud,
fly away!
Fly away cloud,
oh, fly away…

Wind with cloud tête–à–tête
talked while blowing its around:
my desire, oh cloud,
could you guess?
don't you see the world without you-
better place, - fly away, oh cloud,
don't delay, oh cloud,
fly away!

If there were no more concerns,
than to chase after you! -
hurry up and pour with rain,
then melt away.
If I stay with you someway
my friend sail will become unvaried
fly away, oh cloud
fly away!

 All the hardships, sorrow
envelop with cotton wool,
take with you anxiety
and sadness
for no grief to all had happened,
for the sun be never blacked-
fly away, oh cloud,
fly away!

Starry bridge

Music: A.Zatsepin, Lyrics (Russian): L.Derbenev, "31 of June" - fantastic two-part
musical TV movie based on the eponymous novel by John B. Priestley (1978).
Below is my translation of the song from this movie "Starry bridge".

Heavenly lights are floating
along immense starlike road,
over the deep black abyss,
forming a starry bridge for us.

Refrain:
We are among the stars and darkness
each other found in unthinkable sky dust
for the Milky Way to become someday
the road of eternal love!

Everything may ends suddenly,
you do not lose me in the twinkling stars,
won't be destroyed by loneliness
our starry bridge again.

Refrain.

Let Dipper bucket, Big Dipper
melted slowly faded away.
Let's hope that Starry bridge
will help to love, will sway...

Refrain.

Two souls

My translation of lyrics for a song "Two souls" . Music - N. Topchiy, Lirycs - E. Pilipyuk
Singers: A. Malinin, E. Vaenga.

Two souls, walking through the heavens,
talked in the silence heart to heart
about land they have remembered,
and great experience impact.
About land they have remembered,
and great experience impact.

Two souls...

Two souls away from sinful Earth
led slow thoughtful conversation -
how looked for one another
and got lost in crowd,
swept thin trail of sorrow
and temptation.
Swept thin trail of sorrow
and temptation.

Two souls...

Two souls embraced under the star,
recalled their special hour of fate,
the hour, when darkness had been gone,
soul've found the path to soul mate.
The hour, when darkness had been gone,
soul've found the path to soul mate.

Two souls...

Two souls, walking through the heavens,
talked in the silence heart to heart
about land they have remembered,
and great experience impact.
About land they have remembered,
and great experience impact.

Colorful fairs

Nice adventure. Car trip.
Pop CD on background.
Autumn trees throwing foliage
as thought leading the way,
with old popular song
by Maryla Rodowicz
all the "colorful fairs"
arrive into day.

Time is racing like a rider
on the spirited horse,
day ago you - the master,
now - take novel course.

Word by word flows easy,
and in climax moment -
no more music, just a silence,
supporitng the truth...

Horses in the ocean

My translation, based on the poem by Russian poet Boris Slutsky
(1919-1986) "Horses in the ocean". Above is video of the song by
the band "Rock Island", based on the poem with music by Victor
Berkovsky (1932-2005) "Red Island".

Horses can swim,
But not good, not far...

'Gloria', the sailing ship -
trying to overcome the ocean.
Lots of horses, crowded at this trip,
in the cargo holds in constant motion.

1000 of horses, but 4000 horseshoes
haven't brought the happy end:
the bottom of the ship was pierced, pushed
by the bomb, far-far away from the land.

People're boarding into the boats, rafts -
while the horses - swimming by themselves!
Gush, how should they act
if there is no room and nobody - to help...

Vast red island in the ocean loaded,
chestnut horses on uptight surface,-
seemed at first it's simple to float,
the ocean seemed like river path.

Only there is endless river...
at the end of horses strengths...
suddenly they neighed, as if disagreeing
to the freedom with no chance...

Doomed poor horses went to a bottom...
Who in the world will mourn this loss!
Filled with sorrow my heart about them,
Red ones, have not seen the earth...

"I'm writing a historical novel!"

my translation of the song, written in 1975 by Russian bard Bulat Okudzhave

In a dark glass bottle
from under imported beer
red rose bloomed
proudly and slowly.

The historical novel
I wrote a little by little,
breaking as into the fog
from prologue to epilogue.

Ref.: Everyone writes what he hears,
        everyone hears how he breathes,
as he breathes so he writes,
        not trying to please.
        Since the nature wanted
        why? - not our business,
why? - not for us to judge.

There the sky was blue ahead,
and the fantasy - in abundance,
and out of my destiny
I pulled the thread by thread.

I fitted out the heroes in the path,
searched notes about past,
and imagined myself as
retired lieutenant.

Ref.

Fantasy's not a hoax,
the idea's not yet the whole,-
give me to finish a novel
until the last page.

And while it still alive,
red rose in a bottle,
give me to shout out words,
that long lie in the bank.

Grape seed

my translation of the song by Russian/Georgian bard Bulat Okudzhava (1924-1997), performed by Georgian singer Vahtang Kikabidze

I'll bury grape seed in warm soil,
and kiss the vine, and pull a ripe grape,
and convene the friends, tune my heart to love,
otherwise why live on this eternal earth?

Gather, my friends, on the feast,
tell me straight in the eyes:
who am I in your view?
King of heaven will send me
the pardon for all of my sins,
otherwise why live on this eternal earth?

In the dark red my dali* will sing for me,
in the black and white I'll bow to her.
And be listening, and I'll die of love and sorrow,
otherwise why live on this eternal earth?

And when veil of sunset grows goldish,
let again and again blue buffalo, white eagle
and golden trout in front of me float...
otherwise why live on this eternal earth?

dali* - Goddess of the hunt in the Georgian folklore

My Love - hot air balloon

my translation of the song by Russian music group "White Eagle",
the plot is taken from Pablo Picasso's "Girl on the ball" (1905)

With you only I could understand,
what does it mean to be loved,
leafing through love like a notebook,
and to live by that hope.

Dawn outside of my window
I'll meet with you.
My house filled with Love,
and there's nothing better.

My Love - hot air balloon,
it has the color of your blue eyes.
My Love - hot air balloon,
one for me and you,
one for me and you.

I think this world
looks like a big flower.
It has kept by Lord -
Holy petal of Love.

Dawn outside of my window
I'll meet with you.
My house filled with Love,
and there's nothing better.

Laughing Room

This is my translation of the song "Laughing Room". The music by Teodor Efimov, lyrics by David Usmanov, written in 1987.

Have you ever been in a laughing room?
Have you ever been in a laughing room?
That's where the fun,
That's where the fun,
Have you ever been in a laughing room?

Chorus:
There little seems big,
There plump seems thin,
There the heads of all - as at giants,
And hands - as at the best musicians.
There are curved mirrors as saucers,
And everyone laughs,
And everyone laughs,
And everyone laughs.

Have you ever talked with yourself there?
Have you ever talked with yourself there?
Laughing with tears,
Laughing with tears,
Have you ever talked with yourself there?
Chorus.

What if take a glimpse into yourself
as in laughing room?
What if take a glimpse into yourself
as in laughing room?
What the obstacle,
What the obstacle,
If each of us - like a laughing room.
Chorus.

Magician's song. The spell

My translation to the "Magician's song" from the movie "Ordinary miracle" (1978),
by producer M.Zaharov based on the Eugene Schwartz's play. Music - G.Gladkov,
lyrics - U. Kim, singer - L.Serebrennikov

It is absurd, ridiculous, foolish,
crazy, magical.
Neither the sense nor the good,
not in the way, completely out of place.

There comes a day, there comes the hour,
a time in hostage, locked in tower,
and the connection breaks.

Granite is boiling, burning ice,
and getting strength a lightweight fuzz,-
what kind of nuisance.

And Trin-Trava is blooming high,
enlightened owl sends insight,
and even fragile thin thread
unable to be cut by
the steel blade
the steel blade.

It is absurd, ridiculous, foolish,
crazy, magical.
Neither the sense nor the good,
not in the way, completely out of place.

There comes a term, along with it
a chills and fear, and a secret heat,
delight and power,

the pain and laughter, the shadow and the light -
in same campfire out of sight, -
what kind of nuisance.

From the mirage surreal line
from an extravagance of mine -
figure impression.
The color, sound it'll find,
and flesh and passion
and flesh and passion.

It is absurd, ridiculous, foolish,
crazy, magical.
Neither the sense nor the good,
not in the way, completely out of place.

Lel's song

Animated film "Snow Maiden" based on the play by Alexander Ostrovsky to the music of Rimsky-Korsakov, processed by L.Shvarts.
The Snow Maiden - the daughter of Father Frost and Beauty Spring . Her icy heart has never was in charge of simple human pleasures, never knew love before she met Lel. His love and warmth gave the girl  the wealth of the world, melted the heart of cold beauty.
Below is my translation of The third song of Lel from the opera "Snow Maiden"

Cloud with thunder were conspiring:
'You rattle, thunder, and I'll pour the rain,
sparkle the ground with spring rain,
that's how flowers will rejoice,
the girls come out to pick berries,
followed their fellows, boyfriends'
Lehl, my Lehl, my Lely, Lely, Lely, Lel.

In a grove young ladies all scattered apart,
who - in the bushes, and who're for firs.
They took berries, halloo to one another,
one girl suddenly is disappeared...
All girls're crying: 'Has the girl been
eaten by a wolf?'
Lehl, my Lehl, my Lely, Lely, Lely, Lel.

On their way girls met the stranger,
strange old stranger, very strange old man:
'Girls, are you stupid, are you crazy at all?
What kind of profits're your halloo to
one another?
What a joy to her to respond?
You would fumbled in the bushes...'
Lehl, my Lehl, my Lely, Lely, Lely, Lel.

Tell us, birds

Tell us, birds: what attract you in the heights,
you are so boldly raised above me;
maybe it is so easy to fly
because you don't aspire to success,
grievance of last years doesn't hurt you,
these winged years, wonderful years?

Come on, birds, fly, fly,
through midnight, and the sun at its zenith.
Verse per verse around the world
distribute this song to people,

and the mushroom rains' silver threads.
Verse per verse around the world
distribute this song to people,
and the mushroom rains' silver threads.

Tell us, birds, now it's right time
that our planet - a fragile glass.
Neat birch, the rivers and fields -
from above they are softer than crystal,
shell we really hear from all sides
crystal bells, ringing a farewell?

Come on, birds, fly, fly,
through midnight, and the sun at its zenith.
Verse per verse around the world
distribute this song to people,
and the mushroom rains' silver threads.
Verse per verse around the world
distribute this song to people,
and the mushroom rains' silver threads.

Flying above the clouds

I close my eyes
and words are arising from the void
like dew drops,
like breathing stillness of night -
I am a white bird,
flying above the clouds
toward the place where dreams come true,
toward the place where dreams come true.

And you haven't known,
And you haven't known,
You haven't known me...

And quietly rocking,
the earth drifts away under feet,
and suddenly light gets flares up
we don't need any words -
I am a white bird,
flying above the cluods
toward the place where dreams come true
toward the place where dreams come true.

And you haven't known,
And you haven't known,
I haven't known myself...

Lunar trail

Night snuggles to the windows,
In the high dreams again
The moon floats, sad and at ease.
You're quietly looking at the fire,
But you're so afar...
I'm not familiar with those shores.

Lunar trail on the dark path of the waves,
Lunar trail leads you far away
In a world where is no place for me
In a world where I am a stranger.

I could touch your lips,
But the distance so big
I feel so lonely with you, sorry...
And do not mind anyway
Never Earthy Love won't found
In your underwater kingdom.

Lunar trail on the dark path of the waves,
Lunar trail leads you far away
In a world where is no place for me
In a world where I am a stranger.

In a world where is no place for me
In a world where I am a stranger.

To the dog

based on poem by Russian poet Sergey Yesenin (1895 -1925)

Give Jim your paw for greatest luck,
Such gentle paw I've never seen.
Let bark with you in the moonlight
On a quiet, noiseless weather scene.
Give Jim your paw for greatest luck.

And, please, my darling, do not lick.
Just understand in simple way.
You do not know: life is quick,
But it is worth to ride the sway.

Your master - sweet, befriend with fame,
There lots of guests in house occur,
And smiling, each one wants the same:
To give you pat on a velvet fur.

You're a dog devilishly handsome,
Big eyes with mystical abyss.
Why bother of waiting for the answer:
Like late drunk friend, you climb to kiss.

My dear Jim, among your guests
So much of those, who whisper gup,
But one, the silent and ..the best,
By accident, hasn't showed up?

She'll come, I bet you, very soon,
And gently staring in her eyes,
You lick her hand for my fortune,
For all wrong words turned in good byes.
