– Oer Wout - Photo Challenge #64 ~ Neeraj
We dream
marching…
Ingrown into ground
roots,
our trunks
channeling
wisdom,
spangled
with skeletons…
one-sided,
imbalanced,
losing
the gravity,
rumors crawl
into wind up
songs
along the limbs…
any day
we'll get called
to carry/support
the Earth,
the planet
above our
hollow bods
just as the Earth
kept us save
many summers and falls,
defined in skies...

Its a brilliant piece. Earth nourishes everything, including our minds. And apt photos too!
ReplyDeleteEverything comes back around as the earth continues to spin
ReplyDeleteI hope that enough hear that call,
ReplyDeletewhen the time comes --- and we must give back
what she has so freely given us.
Enjoyed. I wonder of such thoughts along such a path toward this glimpse of sky..
ReplyDeleteYes, we will be called....
ReplyDeleteI like this wonderful poem with all its exquisite naturalness.
ReplyDeleteSpangled with skeletons..what a terrific line..the image and sense of the path is both dream like and 'real'..
ReplyDeleteSo much wisdom in this piece, beautifully done

When I was a child I thought all trees lived forever. Though there are some that seem too... most do not. A lovely honorarium to trees.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my Sheila piece.
I was especially intrigued by the rumors crawling up the limbs--that's how it feels to me, and I'd never heard it said quite so accurately.
