We steel to shine
as diamonds? – crazy
martyrs of self-dreams
we seer our victories
in argument for sake of it…
Such prisoners of childhood
at twilight
play secrets with a shadow,
pretending we can’t hear
a stranger/soul’s
laughter…

i like this contempt for "martyrs of self-dreams" and they are truly ".... prisoners of childhood / at twilight"...use of words is amazing here...

ReplyDelete" …at twilight,
ReplyDeleteplay secrets with a shadow," really like the imagery with that line. Reminds me of my own childhood, playing till dusk, till our parents called us in. Well written, great combination of imagery and words.
Great use of the prompt. I like "playing secrets with a shadow"
