Edmund Dulac. Abysm of Time, n.d. WikiArt.
Shells, oysters,
stones, pink jelly fish,
steamy air,
gnawing wind,
abyss divides us, in trance
we’re folding our wings.
Power pose
defines body’s tongue:
‘who you are’
dynamics,
climax shapes; make yourself big:
spread out or fake!

ReplyDeleteIn this way, we are all super hero's: super-sized, spread out or fake! I love that "in trance / we're folding our wings."

ReplyDeleteHa-- faking can be very empowering! Thanks. k.

ReplyDeleteThe mood of the picture and the mood of the poem go well together. I guess we are all faking it really.

Perhaps we do both! What an intriguing poem...just who is the superhero...is it us ;)
ReplyDeleteAlways be confident in who you are ;) I also like how you pick up the details of the painting besides the woman. Well done.
ReplyDeleteBeing mute could serve a few purposes. To ward off advances. But I like your point that being mute could be tragic as well. I was thinking in lines of some artists who like to take advantage of their models (even if they, the painter is, married.) And then should the wife (or partner) remain mute to the 'genius' ?
I really liked this part of the article,, with a nice and interesting topics have helped a lot of people who do not challenge things people should know... you need more publicize this so many people who know about it are rare for people to know this,, Success for you.,,,,, ,!
