Super Powers by Howard Finster ~ AVAM
Thy farsighted glance,
closer things lose the shape,
just direction exists and smell,
an
aura, layers of thoughts,
a
choice to step into strata…
bringing a rigid
discomfort, resistance – noise...
do I want to engage?
those past blueprints
never been my perception
for this new world of 'I'
how it feels today?
move to place that aligned
with the greatest dreams
words:
‘peace’, ‘certainty’, ‘happy’,
'seniority’,
- trust yourself.

ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful poem... with a wondrous message :D
ReplyDeleteLoved it!

The I for all or the 'Me' generation - we oft for get we need each other.
ReplyDeleteThat I think is the true blueprint - trust to know when to be apart or alone.
Thanks for stopping by my piece on the prompt. :)
No one can do it alone 100% of the time
ReplyDeleteA true blueprint~
ReplyDeleteI love these words:
ReplyDeletewords: ‘peace’, ‘certainty’, ‘happy’,
'seniority’, - trust yourself.
I don't know why, but this poem makes me think of Grendel... Perhaps is the use of the word "noise". Hm....
ReplyDeleteSometimes it is hard to "trust yourself" especially when you are feeling the odds are against you.
ReplyDeleteLearning to trust oneself is a journey. This piece points out to me how much we need one another, to step out from "i" and meet in "we"
ReplyDeleteYes, interesting poem, confidence in oneself is one of the keys!
ReplyDeleteGood conclusion!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if anyone would choose this picture, which i thought was one of the more unique ones offered--you did a great job with its larger than life symbols here.
ReplyDeleteI find trusting myself very hard, I feel like the old brain plays tricks on me lol
ReplyDeleteThis new world of "I" that we currently live in contributes to the sense of disengagement, disconnection, and anomy we feel. When we can lose ourselves in something bigger than ourselves, we can really feel happiness and peace. At least IMHO! Thanks for participating!
ReplyDeleteI like the way you brought this as two worlds...effective approach.
ReplyDeletetruer words than your final two can't be said ~
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful!
ReplyDelete"those past blueprints
never been my perception
for this new world of 'I'":
This bit particularly made me think. Evocative and engaging write.
