We’re returning home
crispy snow crackles
under the feet,
following
voices mingle.
The whole day of touching
base
with someone’s heart,
credulous necks
unleashing.
Holding the door open
for insights and issues,
loop back for granules
of sense,
and reason
our next entree
to sprinkle the magic spree
to find the solace
in distraction

Anthropometry of Earth…

ReplyDeleteWow - you've managed to humanise some of that awful corporate-speak. Really impressed.
ReplyDeleteTony
What a good idea, Tony, the prompt. Just let us save the language of time in poetry for future generation to ponder....haha ~ Thanks.
Deleteoh i like how you mix the crispy snow with the business language... gives it a whole new feel
ReplyDeleteImagine some of the business lingo can be hijacked back into poetry.. Impressive.
ReplyDeletebeautiful piece
ReplyDeleteStunning images, you've put me right there!
ReplyDeletenothing like finding solace.
ReplyDeletefocused implementation
Enjoyed. The flow through the tasks along with the thought process, prepared well for the process shown in the video.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, as stated above, the management-speak simply melts into the scintillating poetics; clever & expressive take on the prompt. Like the lines /and reason/our next entree/.
ReplyDeleteLive your phrase about touching base with someone's heart.
ReplyDeleteThere will be items off tangent. One has to be sure-footed to survive! Wonderful lines humbird!

ReplyDeletethe inner beauty of the business world can be seen through your poem.
ReplyDeleteIt is a wonderful experience indeed to touch base with someone's heart.
ReplyDeleteSomehow business jargon and home do not mix well, except in your words.
ReplyDeletebeautiful and interesting use of images.
ReplyDelete"granules of sense"...may we find them-ha!

ReplyDeleteHave a nice Sunday, thank you for dropping in at The Sunday Lime
Much love...
I had to look up anthropometry--though I should have known it had to do with performance art and movement. I enjoyed the Meyerholdish biomechanical movement more than the silent commentaryon nude art--but here I am living your poem! What is the process of "making sense of" or enjoying art that seeks to bypass our ordinary modes of being? While rushing home, figuratively and literally?
ReplyDeleteThank you for commenting, Susan. Anthropometry -' the scientific study of the measurements and proportions of the human body.'
DeletePlease, watch the video starting from 8th min - this was revelation for me...not about the relation to theater or norms...
I like the idea of "credulous necks" and holding the door open for insight.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your insightful comments! Love them all :)x
ReplyDeleteTouching base with someone's heart..that is a lovely thought..
ReplyDeleteArt and science have always had a relationship although each might deny that where one has free will and the other exactitude. Life is like that twirling round like bodies creating beautiful images.
ReplyDeleteI love the breaks. They feel like the click-click-click of pictures been taken, one after another...
ReplyDeleteNot sure I understand the entire message here, but I did enjoy your poem and thought the video was fasinating. I think the message will sink in on a level other than intellectual. I felt this art.
ReplyDeletei liked your poem....
