…the invisible dragons flew so close- I could feel the burning breath on my neck. Mountain water filled the wooden cup in a shaman hands…
Drumming in 7 bit pattern penetrated into the heart, the magic chant took the soul to the journey – a path of Earth. The rattle rumbles, calling Spirits of East, South, West and North, up above, middle, down below; riffling through the levels…

Ah yes, to restore the balance is so important.
ReplyDeleteDrum circles are pretty cool. I went to one not too long ago. It was be a rather magical experience - a journey, so I really resonate with the middle part. Read plenty of books on dragons and quests, which is what the first brought to mind. Would be cool to see a dragon in real life. Probably scary as well. I think your hainu is a quest we all find our selves on.
ReplyDeleteOff-center, shaky axis, glaciers melting, seas rising, sun too hot for too long, ice storms & snowstorms too intense & long lasting--yes, it is time to return to the shaman, to the more traditional ways of worship & respect for Nature.
ReplyDeleteI love the voice in this - dragon, shaman, a path of Earth......restoring the balance is our human quest. Loved this, humbird!
ReplyDeleteThis is great, the drum the magic, I feel there is light in the darkest part of night if we just look for it.
ReplyDeleteReally evocative and spiritual, a delight to read.

ReplyDeleteBalance can be so hard to find, especially with dragons breathing down your neck. Nice haibun, and I like the photo you chose to go with it, too. Peace, Linda
ReplyDeleteVery cool write..love the image! Now it is not only the fables and science fiction that entertain; there is the reality that begs to be untrue.
ReplyDeleterestoring balance is important indeed!

ReplyDeleteThanks for joining our Haibun Monday ~
Indeed, when we get out of balance and do not walk softly on Mother Earth, things do get out of balance, no center. Thank you for joining us for this prompt! Spencer is Kanzensakura.

ReplyDeleteThat quest is the center of our lives... and some days, that balance seems so hard to find. Lovely imagery here.
