Superstitious ~ fidostudio~ Pinterest
In your eyes
sinus chasing cosinus
a serpentine way
pulls me in
to explore,
but I cling for
brows’ slurs
not sure, indecisive…
flickering allure;
the
safest place-
in the center-
face it,
created with
a basic
purpose-
to breath. Beneath-
two watermelon halves,
seedless, ripe
while you share a smile,
the sweetness –
so lovely oval-
be framed,
not tamed
or exiled.

The image in words is far more inventive and now fixed in my head than the image that inspired them.
ReplyDeleteActually, it was opposite order. Thanks, Anthony. :)
Deletewhile the middle is the safest, you also have the furthest distance to touch something else...for me, safe is not always the best.....
ReplyDeleteAh, we don't have the wings...yet... ~ Thank you, Brian :)
DeleteCan't always linger in the safety net, have to spread out and try the other places
ReplyDeletein the curves .. lies the risks but also the rewards.. go for them
ReplyDeleteI can see the watermelon that somehow wound up in this poem. Smiles.
ReplyDeleteyour words pull me in too and i try to see a watermelon now..."not sure, indecisive…
ReplyDeleteflickering allure"...nicely chosen words here...
When we look at someone we never really see them unless we catch them unawares such as in the painting. They may not be two faced but each of us has a secret character that few see.
ReplyDeleteSharing a smile is always sweet indeed!

we all need a safe place, the centre of it. Thought provoking writing.
