the journey continues

Iris

On the horizon
tall lined town homes walls
the rain
bow to the fresh iris leaves
fell from the roof
a prayer for good health


By the river



tall sedges clusters
scattered tombstones by temple
among the trees

darkening sky
listening to ding-dong curfew
no rain

dividing the day
boisterous song of blind minstrel
fishermen catch

morning sun
the homage to the great god
creative mind
built vermillion fencing
bows before altar


Islands

Far out into the sea
stretching caressing sand palms
islands of Matsushima
pines piles bend under the wind
curved in exquisite lines
endowed of feminine grace

Thin ice excuse



The soul climbs out…
its bare branch-bone grabs a cold
snowy ground,
elaborates: why grass has
one more chance to send stalk blades…

holograms
penetrating the sun skin
through the first snow -
thin ice excuse…

not knowing
how to cover our wounds, we
forever breathe/form
layers/foam of steam, snow banks
blocks boldly into our lives’
adjourned ajour …
