The feline sniffs my hand, peering intently, as if
reading lines of palm.
Sighing approvingly, perching right on two sides, and
I'm drowning ...
drowning in olive sea of devilish eyes, lulling my
vigilance;
swaying, shrinking to fit in between black stripes
space –
a little note- me
in fuzzy fur latte named Whisky;
clinging for big secure black buoy of eye.

Oh, I can picture that perceptive feline sniffing, as only cats can do!! I like your artwork as well. I assume it is yours?
ReplyDeleteAh, no, Mary! This is a photograph, edited in Picasa....But I need to get motivated to draw more often...for now it is an effort...Thanks for kind words!

ReplyDelete'eyes to eyes - hard to see a person, the big better seen at distance'...~ S. Esenin, translation ~ thanks, Pat
DeleteYou are experimenting with layouts? I have a preference for the long line, but it depends on the speed and rhythm you want your reader to fly at. I slow for images, and these are delightful.
ReplyDeleteThis particular poem I prefer in short lines, but since the prompt required 7 lines, I reflect the long lines too. Thanks, Susan for stopping by! Warm week to you! Hope your arm - better :)x
Deletenice...my cat has been sitting here all evening with us, cuddling up...
