The hiding becomes exposed
a little box of well-being…
Ah, not easy
skin thinner-bleed when pulled
the world leans/seeps into pores
with millions buzzing words and sounds…
Ah, not easy
to keep telling your story no matter what
multiple tongues move out of sync
dragon like heads - each whine is yours…
Ah, not easy
trust them all, make happy, now
‘Simply hire’ alerts the dream/passion
with the ‘expiration date’ required…

When multiple tongues wag it can be hard to get it out and figure out the truth indeed
ReplyDeleteif it was easy everyone would do it....not much i know is still easy and worth it you know...the challenges hone us into who we are becoming....
ReplyDeleteits true... its not easy to tell your story... there are too many things to say and too less words and even less time... but we all try... amazed!!
ReplyDeleteBut the little box of well-being survives! Amazing! Do you like dragons or see them as the obstacles? I'm thinking we all have one that takes our waking energy either way. The second stanza reminded me of how much energy it takes just to maintain balance.
ReplyDeleteYou know, Susan, they don't ask if I like them...just life...we encounter people on the dif. levels of consciousness ...and accordingly our heads appeared, communicate, and seems like the body, the little box of well-being has to become the coordinator of all this heads ...with center in the heart I guess! ~ Thanks for such bomb prompt! Sometimes you don't know what come up of just one phrase....Amazing to me too!!!
DeleteLike the heart in the box in the Wizard of Oz..but much much better..sometimes we have to protect our box of well being..other time take a risk and expose it to make it stronger and bigger..
ReplyDeleteI like how the poem is built up as a reaction of the first two lines...and the unending struggle one has to face....
ReplyDeleteI so love "the little box of well being".......and that we must tell our stories no matter what. Cool write, humbird!
ReplyDeleteI like things that don't have that 'expiration date.' -- But they are not easy to find.
ReplyDeleteI think the perfect poem is the one that just flows from the first word (until the last) as this has done. The expression came and when you put the last word down it was said.
ReplyDelete"Ah, not easy / to keep telling your story no matter what" - this line resonates with me. It may not be easy but it is a necessity.
ReplyDeleteNot easy. Not easy at all, but worth the doing anyway.
ReplyDeleteinteresting picture...dragons are very strong symbolic beasts that can be good or bad..depends on the view at various points in life..a little box of well being can go a long way..
ReplyDeleteThank you, friends for thoughtful comments and ideas! I'm grateful to have such spiritual connection with all of you through this prompt, thanks to Susan!
ReplyDeletehumbird I like this and shared it on my fb page.
ReplyDeleteWonderful...it's easy to relate to your thoughts, humbird, Sometimes I think, such maliciously wagging tongues should be removed from decent society....but, yes....'a little box of well being ' is worth doing anyhow!!
ReplyDeleteVery true when you write that it's not easy telling your story no matter what. But through the perseverance of our hearts, and our souls, we can do just that. Such a great poem...
ReplyDeleteI have the feeling that this is a person who's gained success through her personal tale and yet is lost in the world of the media? yes? no?
ReplyDeleteWhatever answer you prefer will be correct...as 'yes' and 'no' are the ways of learning... ~ Thanks!
DeleteI specially like the third stanza about telling the story and dragon heads ~ Cool and unexpected piece ~ Happy week to you ~
