Being famous - unattractive

based on the poem, 1956 yr., by Russian poet Boris Pasternak, (1890-1960),
the author of "Doctor Zhivago"

Being famous - unattractive,
It's not raises up:
Trembling over precious writing,
Urge to start backup...

The purpose of art - self-giving,
No hype, no success.
Being "famous" while not "diva"
Will not bring a bless.

Better life - with no fake dances.
Live, and after all
You'll attract yourself abundance,
Hear the future's call.

All we need - to leave the spaces -
Not between the words -
But in fate...those chapters, places,
Crossed in margin notes.

Getting plunge into unknown,
Hide your own steps,
Like the land for spring time longing
Keeps seeds in the depth.

Other literary scholars
Will be held your way -
You don't need to be a ruler:
Criticize or praise.

Tune your heart for Love and promptly
Follow the truth,
Be alive, alive and only
To the end of Earth.

False ghosts

based on the poem by Russian poet Afanasy Fet (1820-1892)

I cannot sleep.
I'll light a candle.
And why to read?
Once again,
I will not comprehend
a single page -
And bright white light
begins to flicker in my eyes,
And shiny string of false ghosts -
dancing by the threshold...

What have I done?
What for?
What is my sin?
How the thought
might be a reproach?
Why so sarcastically
laughing your ghost,
And heavy stares at me
without any word?

Unfamiliar guest

Silence to storm...
All prepared for change...
No more days, no more hours, no mercy -
Only worrying birds...
Flying lower to earth.

Dense solitude...
Sticky boredom of "know"...
What has dreamed of about hasn't come true -
Uncover the tavern of soul...
Unfamiliar guest enters there.

Praises're bestowed...
While he's raising the sight...
Ask strong wine, sing the song with guitar -
Melting my truth about...
The advantage of being alone.

Yet the whistling wind's heard...
My guest's playing guitar...
He is pulling the string of my heart -
And his fingers are moving...
With music crescendo so freely...

Unfamiliar guest...
Understand - we're apart...
I am remedy from solitude of your dreams -
Companion on the way...
By the fork of the roads.

To the dog

based on poem by Russian poet Sergey Yesenin (1895 -1925)

Give Jim your paw for greatest luck,
Such gentle paw I've never seen.
Let bark with you in the moonlight
On a quiet, noiseless weather scene.
Give Jim your paw for greatest luck.

And, please, my darling, do not lick.
Just understand in simple way.
You do not know: life is quick,
But it is worth to ride the sway.

Your master - sweet, befriend with fame,
There lots of guests in house occur,
And smiling, each one wants the same:
To give you pat on a velvet fur.

You're a dog devilishly handsome,
Big eyes with mystical abyss.
Why bother of waiting for the answer:
Like late drunk friend, you climb to kiss.

My dear Jim, among your guests
So much of those, who whisper gup,
But one, the silent and ..the best,
By accident, hasn't showed up?

She'll come, I bet you, very soon,
And gently staring in her eyes,
You lick her hand for my fortune,
For all wrong words turned in good byes.

Only day

based on the elegy by Russian poet Afanasy Fet (1820 - 1892)

Forgive me! In the mist of vision
all I remember - only day,
when you have shrouded in a silence
close by the blazing fireplace

I could forget myself while staring
into the fire, tormenting joy,
reflected back with something bitter
and sigh that I could not avoid...

That hesitation at the target,
where the insanity has lured...
mysterious wilderness and blizzards,
supposed your warmth has to cure...

Can it be true? I'm here stunned
all frozen, embarrassed, snow-capped,
who had it all, and now - ...nothing,
with last hope knocking at your heart?..
